The Effect of Highly Concentrated Chlorine Dioxide on the Physical Properties of Fluoropolymers

Lester M. Dobosz and Ty Tran, ERCO Worldwide; Karol Argasinski, Solvay Solexis

Change of elongation, stress at break and other properties of various fluoropolymers exposed to high concentration pure solution of the chlorine dioxide are reported. The coupons were tested in two groups, one tested for 9 months and another for over 15 months. As expected most of fluoropolymers have shown only small change of their properties.
