Corrosion Aspects for Stainless Steel Surfaces in the Brewery, Dairy and Pharmaceutical Sectors

Based on experience, tests and available literature the paper reviews the relation between surface condition and corrosion properties of stainless steel used in breweries, dairies and pharmaceutical processing plants. Practical aspects related to final chemical treatment (e.g. pickling and passivation) are also discussed.
