The chloride corrosion threshold of steel in concrete dependes not only on concrete and steel properties but also on the potential of the steel while it is still in the passive condition. A model to predict corrosion in reinforced concrete structures incorporating potential dependence and prior corrosion development, as well as the usual material properties and statistical effects, is presented amplifying previous work by the authors in this area.
