Abstract

This paper will review several "problem" coating projects from a supplier's perspective. Despite good intentions by all concerned parties, things sometimes just do not go very well. Case studies will include; Misproportioning of plural component epoxies; How manufacturers go to great lengths to insure proper mixing of two component materials, yet mixing errors still occur; Resurfacers for immersed concrete, or times when there is plainly a poor specification for a job; and "Field chemistry issues", where, either by owner requirements, or contractor expediency, materials are "adjusted" on site.
