A modeling approach for projecting time-to-corrosion, Ti, of black and select corrosion resistant reinforcements in concrete exposed to chlorides is proposed based upon the solution to Fick’s second law of diffusion.  In this, Ti is calculated using previously reported distributed chloride threshold concentration, CT, and reinforcement cover data and assuming that the distributed nature of the effective diffusion coefficient and surface chloride concentration are reflected in the CT data.  Results are discussed within the context of infrastructure durability issues.
