One of the most used techniques against the effects of corrosion in reinforced concrete is the cathodic protection. The following work studies the loss of bond between the steel of reinforcement and the concrete due to cathodic protection current, two levels of cathodic current were analyzed, protection level and overprotection level in specimens made with two concrete mixtures, portland ordinarily cement and fly ash, this with the purpose to find the percentage of bond loss by the pull out test in both mixtures. The determination of K+ concentration was obtained by tritation. The cathodic current generate migration of K+ and Ca+ ions to the interface between steel and concrete and the concentration increase of this ions is related to bond loss. the concrete with higher concentration of K+ in the interface concrete-steel presented high porcentage of bond loss.
