Ongoing American Welding Society (AWS) Plastic Welder Certification Program for Welding of Plastics

The American Welding Society (AWS) Committee on Hot Gas, Extrusion, and Butt Contact Welding Procedures is engaged in ongoing development of a thermoplastic welder certification program.  This paper will review the status of this work.  Information presented will include specifications for welding procedures, performance qualification standards for welded plastics, and visual guides for inspection of welded plastics.
