Cathodic Protection for a 10 Inch (254m) Diameter, 170 Km Long Slurry Pipeline with a Three-Layer Coating System in the Mountains of China

This is a case study of a cathodic protection system design and commissioning of a 10”diameter, 171-kilometer long iron ore concentrate pipeline running from a mine site to the terminal in southeast China. The paper is a compilation of technical information, a colorful tale of working with very hospitable people in lush green forests during monsoon season with torrential rains, mudslides and lightning strikes.
