In August / September 2009, the cathodic protection system on a spar hull in the Gulf of Mexico was retrofitted. The original cathodic protection system on the hull comprised approximately 300 sacrificial aluminum anodes. The spar required a life extension significantly in excess of the original 15 year service life, including the CP system. At the request of the operator, a 15-year CP life extension impressed current CP system was designed, supplied and commissioned.  Ongoing CP monitoring and system performance will also be discussed.
