The center for ocean energy technology at Florida Atlantic University is developing a ocean current turbine system to investigate the feasibility of harnessing the Florida’s Gulfstream current kinetic energy and transforming it into a usable form. The pilot project system is composed of a two point anchor for mooring purposes, a lead hull buoy, an observation and control deck buoy, a turbine and connecting cables and chains. This paper describes the galvanic CP design for the turbine and one of the buoys.
