This paper will discuss the various aspects surrounding the reliability and performance of nuclear generating-station buried pipe in light of corrosion considerations. Corrosion failure mechanisms will be discussed for various materials, geometry, backfills and fluids. Criteria for applying current condition assessment technologies and corrosion management techniques will be established.
