Corrosion inhibition efficiency of Gemini (12-4-12 and 14-4-14) and conventional surfactants (DTAB and TTAB) on low carbon steel was investigated; using three common methods namely, weight loss, OCP and EIS. The influence of chain length and temperature of the media was verified. Data indicate that, the corrosion inhibition efficiency improves by increasing the concentration and chain length of the surfactants. Corrosion rate of steel increases by increasing the temperature of the medium containing surfactant. Adsorption isotherm of used surfactants and kinetic parameters were studied.
