The paper will present a discussion of the history the CO2/H2S ratio value of 500 that is widely quoted within industry documents. The paper will provide a derivation of value and discuss the assumptions that are automatically included in its use. An evaluation of some of these assumptions then calls into question the practical value of the ratio.
