High temperatures are typically used to predict the service life of FBE coatings. This approach assumes the aging mechanism at high temperatures is the same as it is for the actual service temperature of the coating. Our approach for FBE is to accelerate the coating aging using increased oxygen concentration and temperature, allowing data collection in a reasonable time. This could prove to be a more valid method to predict service life of FBE coatings at different oxygen concentrations and temperatures.
