This paper reviews the currently available polyolefin coating materials available for high temperature applications, (up to +140deg for thermal insulation subsea and +110degC onshore). A number of interesting case studies are presented and it also examines the various field joint solutions with their advantages and disadvantages. It finally asks some questions about current and future trends and possible polyolefin solutions.
