Top-of-line (TOL) corrosion in large diameter wet gas pipelines has been reported as an issue in oil and gas industry. Sweet TOL corrosion happens mainly in stratified flow regime, when water phase condensates onto top-of-line location. A good understanding of the effects of environmental parameters on sweet TOL corrosion is important for corrosion prediction and management. This paper presents the experiments that were carried out to study the effects of two environmental parameters on sweet TOL corrosion, including water condensation rate and fluid temperature.
